Either way, it will not get votes because if it helps some and pisses off others it is a wash. Maybe you get brownie points for trying. Thanks for the clarification flu. I am almost there, too.
Actually, I thought about this for sometime…And I’m starting to take my own medicine about everything being interconnected.
See, I work a lot on smartphones. Smartphones are purely discretionary spending items (though they’ve seen to held up pretty good during the recession). The more discretionary income people have to piss away, the better off I am financially, since I spend much much less than I make…
So in essence, if folks can squat and not pay for a mortgage, they have more disposable income to spend on other crap(which americans will do), which inevitably ends up back into my pocket indirectly in the form of a income, which after taxes ends up going to the government, which then redistributes this back to folks in various forms of bailout. And the cycle repeats…
So like I said, starting this month, I’ve stopped caring less…And frankly, if you can’t beat them, join them. I’m getting my new appliances today, thanks to the cash for appliances rebate. I’m taking advantage of ridiculously low rates on refi’s…And I don’t mind folks who are going out and spend money on those smart phones…And when my car comes, I plan on writing a good portion of it off on my taxes. I don’t have issues when my property gets reassessed automatically with a lower tax bill each time…And if I get another speeding ticket, I just call my attorney who will represent me and appeal and appeal and appeal, wasting tax dollars in the process…
The way I look at it…I think I’ve done pretty good weathering this recession/depression, as my income has gone up during this period….And expenses/debt is coming down…I guess I sort of can worry less about unemployment, since even with a preexisting condition, supposedly I should now be able to get insurance anyway (yeah, right)…I don’t think I would trade my current predicament for folks that made bad decisions, or folks that are getting a mortgage break that are having employable issues. This unemployment issue isn’t going away anytime soon, and eventually these temporary breaks (if any) are going to end..On top of that, I’ve lost about 35 lbs, though I need to work on burning off excess fat.
..So, like I said, I’ve started to care less. To some extent, I feel I was kinda lucky, especially dodging a big bullet wrto my health over the past couple few years..Folks need a bailout. Fine, whatever.
