BG, go here to see the proposal: http://www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov/home.aspx
Thanx, AN. I’ll take a look at this. From your link, I see a separate “Authority” has been created for the proposed light-rail project (NOT CALTRANS).
“High Speed Rail Authority” tax-free bonds, anyone??
I’m a frequent road traveler of nearly every CA county!
This is exactly what CA needs to get back on the map of places to do business!

December 7, 2010 at 9:19 PM #636657bearishgurlParticipantI just watched the the CA HSR videos and all I can say is, WOW!!
I wouldn’t have envisioned the SR-152 route from Merced (over Pacheco Pass/Reservoir and alongside the San Luis Reservoir) to Gilroy, cuz it seemed too complicated to do. But I see where the inner part of the peninsula (just west of I-280 along the bayfront) is used as tracks thru the Silicon Valley. This seems totally doable.
Luv it.
Just incredible. Hope I live long enough to ride it all . . . regularly, lol!

IF this actually goes through, the whole thing won’t be complete for another 20-30 years. There is talk of the project being canned due to not enough ridership based on the projection.December 7, 2010 at 10:04 PM #636771anParticipant
I just watched the the CA HSR videos and all I can say is, WOW!!
