Try other Apple authorized resellers, not the main Apple stores. There’s usually one in each city. I believe the sales tax is a refund on departure at international airports.

Apple could use some price competition.
So Far Rivals Can’t Beat iPad’s Price
By JENNA WORTHAM
Published: March 6, 2011The iPad 2, unveiled on Wednesday, offers several sleek improvements over its predecessor. But its most attractive feature is perhaps the same one its predecessor had: the price tag.
And what makes that feature even more compelling is that so far, Apple’s competitors in tablets cannot beat or even match it.

Motorola Xooooooooooooooooooooom….
I love this thing…. It just kicks butt… I mean, maybe not $800 awesome (thank god I didn’t pay for it out of my own personal expenses) but definitely different…..
Now if Sanjay would only price the darn thing appropriately…Like how about a wifi-only version for $399.
Then maybe, just maybe, MMI might give Apple a run for the money….
+100
I want one. But can’t afford one.
Maybe you should have taken out some student loans to go to grad scholl so you could make more money and be able to afford things like this;)
LOL.
Actually, I misspoke. I can afford it. I just choose to keep that money in savings for other goals. It’s a want… not a need. And it’s hard to justify $800 on a want.
I’ll admit it. I’m cheap.
