She can fill out the FAFSA at anytime (online application makes it very easy) and they’ll respond to her within days for what loan amounts she can qualify for.
Just one week we did this with my fiance for her grad school loans.

The loan applications were all referred to me by the academic adviser and all of the applications came with clear instructions, including deadlines. So I think the first point of contact should be her academic adviser.

Sd_bear,Thanks. We do Fafsa every year. We always get a fairly high “Expected Family Contribution” because they will not allow you to talk about medical bills, etc. We don’t know what to do.
