If you read the article carefully, it notes that Brek is a gun owner, but a LEGAL gun owner (a constitutionally protected right). However, in the context of the article and juxtaposed with his political affiliation (Republican) and his “terroristic threats” (which we’re not privy to, and aren’t shown in the article), Brek suddenly becomes a well armed, foaming at the mouth, reactionary right winger (and “enemy of the state”).
I read the article again. It says:
Brek is a Republican and a member of the National Rifle Association, his father told the Newark Star-Ledger.
A search of Brek’s home turned up 43 firearms – although they all appeared to be registered weapons, officials said.

October 23, 2009 at 1:36 PM #472794briansd1GuestCasca, I said that misguided fervor fuels the fire.
Why do you think that our military under Bush began to rebuild the economy and infrastructure of Afghanistan?
Seems to me like nation-building is better that nation-destroying.

The neo-nazis and skinheads tend to come from among the ranks of the disgruntled unemployed.
Time will tell if the “socialist” krugman-esque bailout programs are successful at reviving the economy. If and when there is a big crash, the American jihadists will indeed come out in force.
Jihadism is all about economics and joblessness. Religion serves as a spark to light the fire. Misguided fervor then fuels the fire.
