Just remember never again in your working lives will your taxes be this low again
Isn’t that only true if you make over $250k/year? And even then, taxes are still lower than say… what they were under Reagan for most of his administration.
Just watching CNN now and enjoying the tea party outrage. In the next segment, Obama was producing his tax returns ($2.5 million in adjusted gross income) and reminding Americans that “everyone must pay and do their part,” and that “95% of all taxpayers would see lower taxes” under his new economic plan.
How much will the tax reduction be? Well, according to Candy Crowley, the average reduction for middle class Americans making LESS than $250K/year will be $10-13 a year.
So enjoy your generous tax windfall, afx114. What a wonderful day it must be for folks making less than $250K/yr!!

That’s only true if you make over $250k/year. If so, congrats to you!

April 15, 2009 at 6:52 PM #382085CoronitaParticipant
Are there a lot of people making less than $250k/year who make a lot of money from capital gains?
Don’t know. Probably not in 2008…If fact, folks that had capital gains to report probably should be taxed higher (just kidding).
But I was referring to dividend income. That’s as passive as income is going to be. And with the right planning, dividend income could account for some non-trivial income.
