It’s really pathetic that candidates from both parties are just so……lame…..
I find nothing lame about Obama, He’s very smart, he’s working on health care,
he’s winding down the Iraq war, He’s got a strategy for Afghanistan. Now i disagree with his treasury policy, and his afghan policy, but lame he isn’t.
Flu, you are right they are all lame and they don’t care about the citizens of this country. Don’t tell me Obama is any different than the rest Pat because if you believe that you are smoking something. Obama is just another puppet for bunch of brainless politicians who spent their college days experimenting (some more than others).
Obama (and his controlling strings) don’t have a clue in Afghanistan nor will this Iraq exit strategy work. I am not saying Bush’s strategies were any better, but wake up Pat. Obama is more focused on turning the US in Europe than actually focusing on why the US is different than the rest of the world. The thought process of the current administration is bothersome to me and should be to you, unless you are like the many out there collecting a check from the government and living the dream. Americans need to learn how to start working hard again and stop being given a free ride. Those days are over (or at least they should be)!!

July 5, 2009 at 3:01 PM #425541ArrayaParticipantStrategies in the ME did not change from Bush to Obama. Only the rhetoric did. The Iraq draw down started well over a year ago. Gates has not changed his plans with Obama taking over or rather becoming the spokesmen. He’s been firmly in charge since Rumsfeld left.
First Bush lied and now Obama lies – no different except that Obama’s lies get delivered smoother and he’s got a large following of personality cultists who believe him. The geopolitical strategy has always been to establish a huge military beachhead in Iraq – that’s why we’ve built several gigantic, permanent bases there – and to have a permanent force of between 50-80,000 troops available for deployment anywhere in the region.
The financial polices are not much different either. Does anybody think that Obama has influence on monetary policy?
Besides the 787 billion, which is only 7% of total taxpayer funds allocated to the mess, the trajectory has been the same. The Fed/Goldman Sachs influence has not changed. Who’s been Treasury secretary and where did they come from for the past two administrations?
The only real purpose of the American president is to be the point-man for the propaganda put out by the ruling cabal behind the curtain. The truth is that the President doesn’t have time to do any policy discussion and certainly very little reading – it’s all handled by the minions scurrying around him. The President is simply the focal point for the attention of the people while everything happens behind the curtain, dictated by the real controllers.
Looking through ideological lenses and listening to party talking points confuses things.

July 5, 2009 at 4:57 PM #425617North15Participant

If she has no chance, is so battered and damaged and of no good to anyone, why is she getting so much attention? What is it about Sarah Palin that attracts this level of scrutiny? What are liberals afraid of?
I’m quite confused how “media attention and scrutiny” = “what are liberals afraid of?”
this is the type of media attention and scrutiny along the line of Michael Jackson’s passing.
Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon got about a day of media attention compared to Jackson. So are the liberals MORE AFRAID of Jackson?
obviously no. Jackson is more interesting to the media because he is weird, odd, strange, and a bit of a joke. that attracts attention and that attracts scrutiny.
unfortunately, Palin is also more interesting to the media because she is weird, odd, strange, and a bit of a joke. that attracts attention and that attracts scrutiny.
I would suggest taking off those conservative talk radio colored glasses, the view tend to be clearer.
(FYI, I use to listen to talk radio daily, over the last couple of years I’ve found a dramatic shift toward conspiracy and hate and just plain liberal bashing to no end, can’t even stand 5 minutes of it now.)
The scrutiny and attention Palin receives by the liberal media is consistently aimed at discrediting her or her family. Why spend so much energy on this?
And this has nothing to do with conservative talk radio.
