Rommel died because he was implicated in the plot to kill Hitler. When Generals take on the boss, they are removed or whacked. That was my analogy. When a true soldier retires, it is almost the same as death because their job is their life.

If he gave the RS an interview, there must have been a reason. Maybe this will get us out of Afghanistan. It did the Russians in and the crooks in power over there are not on our side. You are making Arraya’s point, that maybe McChrystal is positioning himself for a run if that’s the kind of people he attracts. In troubled times we need warriors, not wimps. Did you see how O threw the ball? No offense to the gals, but he throws like one. No one, but a Harvard educated weenie or a tie-dyed Lib would think he deserves respect. The pointey-headed ones spent too much time smoking dope and not enough time in the real world.

That was my first thought as well, but then I thought it’s also possible this whole thing was orchestrated by all involved parties. It was this line tucked in towards the end of the article that made me think that
