Rustico, this seems pretty simple to me. If the cabinets, appliances, etc. were financed into the loan, the bank owns all of it. If it wasn’t and the buyers paid for it out of their own money, it’s theirs.
And the comment about these people not being bitter is a lie. They’re bitter.

I know when I have sold houses in the past, I put in the listing if certain items were not part of the sale, such as antique fireplace mantles and certain lighting pieces. This is an interesting ethical area to be explored.

Anyway I could do some secret squirrel investigation into that, with archived MLS listings on the house. But really I wouldn’t touch it either way.Not worth any moral dilema. Logistically it probably is a hassle in most cases too. Probably just get new.
I am pretty sure if not those cabinets , some cabinets were there when the house was appraised and the loan docs. were signed.Are they going to put them back?
