This was one of my favorite comedians. When I first arrived in the US and heard him, it was like a breath of fresh air, and I felt right at home. To me he was an Irishman to the core, the kind of guy you would meet in a pub. I have one of his books, and while some people read the bible everyday to keep them sane, I dig into his repertoire of jokes and quips to pep up my day. Very, very sad to see him go π Who will replace him. Wait, there is another comedian …a guy called George Bush π

June 25, 2008 at 10:29 AM #228276BoratParticipantI saw him live in Vegas about 10 years ago. His first words upon taking the stage?
“Have you ever noticed that the people who are against abortion are people you wouldn’t want to f*** anyway?”
About a third of the audience immediately got up and walked out. Afterwards he said, “Okay now that that’s out of the way we can get down to business.”
I’ll never forget that, it was an amazing display of the power of language. The guy had big brass ones, that’s for sure.
