[quote=briansd1]I’m going to buy a composting bin from Amazon as a gift for a friend.
Any suggestions?

I have a couple of bio-stack composters. You can get them from a couple places in SD or online. The stacking frames just snap together.

October 21, 2010 at 10:32 AM #621142NotCrankyParticipantAnyone still at it with a Fall garden? Last year I didn’t know what I was doing and took a beating the first few plantings. This year is looking much better from the start.
The rain and cool weather are great for transplanting broccoli, cabbages and cauliflower.
I started four kinds of lettuce, spinach and beets in September. At first the garden was under shade cloth and they all blasted right through a couple of heatwaves. We are having delicious salads with the thinnings.Snow peas, green onions, carrots, swiss chard and a few other things are well on their way. We are planting more of something every few weeks.
If you are still growing, how is it going? How was the summer harvest?

October 21, 2010 at 11:41 AM #621167UCGalParticipantI put some lettuce in – but some critter ate it.
I want to put in broccoli – we eat enough of it in our house so that could have an impact on my grocery budget.October 21, 2010 at 11:41 AM #621249UCGalParticipantI put some lettuce in – but some critter ate it.
