Sounds yummy. You need a big fire to do that. Do you have a big backyard?
You know what else you can do? You can kill your own pig. We have a growing population of wild pigs in East County. A one-year hunting license costs $40 and a pig tag costs $20. (And, of course, you need a hunting rifle. Big 5 has a Remington .30-06 on sale for $349 right now.)

Were you thinking of having some hungry Piggs over for a pig roast, scaredy? Have you asked the authorities about this??

January 19, 2011 at 11:49 PM #656815CA renterParticipant
I’ve got it in my head to roast a whole animal. Anyone ever done this before? Ivebeen reading a bit on the Internet about it. I feel like I should do this every year.
Our neighbor does this, and they don’t have a really big backyard. They do have a nice firepit that the husband built, himself. He also built an outdoor pizza oven (or a bread oven, can’t remember if there is a difference). Perhaps some people wouldn’t like the smell, but I don’t think anyone around us has complained.
If you want me to ask them any questions, let me know.
BTW, it sounds like you and Mrs. Scaredycat are having a fun time with your new house. It’s delightful to hear about your exploits and all the joys home ownership has brought to you and your family. π
