The intelligence services knew there were no WMDs in Iraq. Bush, Cheney & Co. twisted the data to argue that there were WMDs.
I disagree with this allegation. Many, many, people, organizations, and countries believed Saddam had chemical weapons and might use them. For example, other middle east leaders, other officials within Iraq, our allies, and our military. It’s really simplistic to attribute that much power and guile to Bush, Cheney & Co.
Didn’t Hillary speak of her concern of this during the authorization for use of force? Are you saying she was “in on it”?
Our troops were wearing MOPP protective suits in 130 degree weather there for awhile. It was not fun. I’m not buying that generals at the top issued those orders with a wink just for appearances to cover some spook or president’s behind. I don’t think they’d do it. Those guys are pretty serious about mission execution. If they issued those orders, imo, they themselves thought that the precautions were necessary.
Do we have any military type folks on this board that could comment?

You could do better? If I told you with certainty Ayman Al Zawahiri was currently hiding somewhere in PB or MB (thereby narrowing things down for you *quite* a bit and allowing you to conduct your search in your own country) how long do you think it would take you to find him?May 22, 2011 at 5:50 PM #697901KSMountainParticipant
I’m not too impressed with our intelligence services if it took them 10 years to find this guy.
And if someone did create the universe then who indeed created god?
That is mind bending. Here is one a little less extreme but still interesting:
Say you buy into the whole Big Bang, 3 deg K cosmic background radiation, universe underwent rapid expansion from the size of a grapefruit, thing.
Who made the grapefruit? What caused it to pop into existence fraught with all its incomprehensible potentiality at that particular moment, allegedly approximately 15 billion years ago? What was happening before that?
