A roommate of mine found another option on one of the freight truck lines. I think it was yellow truck, but I don’t remember. You have to load it up, and they charge by the amount of space you use by the linear foot. They do all the driving and then meet you at the new place to unload later. She said it saved quite a bit of money. I believe she said it was $800 from San Diego to Alabama, but my memory is pretty foggy.

Every move I have made (4) in the past 4 years I have been able to throw everything I own into my truck and take off. Strangly it seems to get harder each time, as I seem to have more and more crap each time. π
