    as I sit here typing on the 2nd floor of a westward facing newer home with excellent insulation, the temp is 11 degree cooler compared to the outside temp. downstairs the temp difference is 13 degrees.

    the garage feels like an oven on self-cleaning mode, but the house feels like the AC is on.

    so is it orientation of the house? or is it the insulation? probably a combination effect?
