SD R, I find that people who already made up their mind (one way or another) will be very hard to convince to adopt the opposite stance. The only people who you can convince are people who are either completely open minded to all solutions or people who haven’t made up their mind yet. So, at the end of the day, it’s just fun to debate. I don’t suspect anyone to change their mind here either. At least not those who have expressed their opinion in this thread.
It seems like the only way your family would change their mind about Obama is to have one of this policy fail them personally. I hope it doesn’t happen for their sake, but I think that would be the only way to change a fanatic’s impression.

Some of the posters may not be impacted by this bill, but consider it a horrible intrusion of government to decide when someone is too old to live and should only receive pain killers and be left to die, rather than be treated. Obama is making a huge mistake on this bill. It will cost him dearly in the long run.

July 28, 2009 at 1:03 AM #437741SD RealtorParticipantAN and Zeit you guys are both correct. Truth be told myself/wife/kids will save ALOT of money should this bill be passed. I am very open minded and agree 100% that reform is needed but to me this is a heck of alot more then reform. Just my opinion. Once this is done it cannot be undone and that is what is scary. My wife has a client that is a well known cardiologist and that guy said this will substantially change the treatment for many people he treats. He basically said god help those people whose treatment decisions will now be made by the government.
