Yes, it appears Obama did bow to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in April 2009. see: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/5128171/Barack-Obama-criticised-for-bowing-to-King-Abdullah-of-Saudi-Arabia.htmlBut there are also pictures of Bush Jr. walking with the same King, holding his hand. See: http://michellemalkin.com/2009/04/02/video-obamas-deep-bow-to-the-saudi-king/%5B/quote%5D
There are pictures of Bush Tongue Wrestling with Abdullah too.

June 17, 2011 at 4:39 PM #704340Allan from FallbrookParticipant
Why would the Federal government not borrow at ultra low interest rates to rebuild our infrastructure? There are millions of construction workers out of work.
That’s very different from adding functionaries and growing the government.
Think about it. If it makes sense to borrow to buy a house now, it also makes sense to borrow to buy airports, train stations, schools, and other critical infrastructure. That will create economic growth in the future.
Republican talk about jobs, but cutting spending now immediately adds to the unemployment problem. Are they being honest about that? No.
About blind loyalty, I’m loyal to my ideals. But I understand that, in practice, things only move very slowly with lots of efforts.
Compare my arguments to the silly and irrational things on this thread that the others (and the Tea Party) are mad at Obama for.
Brian: More red herrings and strawman arguments, and still no substantive response on Obama’s plans.
As far as the Federal government borrowing at zero interest to build infrastructure: Its a great idea. Except that the Federal government isn’t building anything (see Obama’s comment about “shovel-ready jobs not being so shovel-ready”). I’d challenge you to find significant Federal infrastructure improvement projects (that don’t include the high-speed rail boondoggle) that are underway at present.
Again, I ask: What IS the plan? You still haven’t answered.

Again, I ask: What IS the plan? You still haven’t answered.
Allan, the plan is to counter Republican obstruction while advancing a progressive economic and social agenda.
What’s the point of an ambitious plan if you can’t get it through?
Obama did propose a public works plan, but it went nowhere with Republican opposition.
So the President compromised with Republicans on the Stimulus bill. Obama compromised on the extention of the Bush tax cuts. Where is Republican compromise?
So we know what Obama is up against — Republican obstruction at every turn.
What is the Republican jobs plan? None.
Spending cuts and tax cuts? That will not create jobs for people who need to pay their mortgages next month.
If you believe that Obama is not doing a good job, what candicate do you propose to replace him?
In construction, you don’t fire your contractor unless you have someone else, better qualified, who will keep your project moving along.
