[quote=Veritas]I think if Brian was describing a behavior he exhibits as that of a Republican he would call it blind loyalty. The same behavior that has gotten this country into all kind of stupid wars. Now the shoe and the stupid war is on the other foot.

Veritas: Brian guilty of blind loyalty? Perish the thought! Nah, Brian is a thoughtful, well-reasoned Progressive who never lets emotion or bourgeois sentimentality cloud his thinking.
The facts are that this administration is both following the failed policies of its predecessor, along with showing itself completely unable to formulate a working strategy on jobs, tax reform and immigration.
You wonder why American business dislikes and mistrusts Obama? Take one look at the nonsense going on with the NLRB and Boeing and you’ll get a really strong whiff.
Of course, it might just be that we’re all haters, racists and Birthers, too.

June 17, 2011 at 11:12 AM #704277briansd1GuestWhy would the Federal government not borrow at ultra low interest rates to rebuild our infrastructure? There are millions of construction workers out of work.
That’s very different from adding functionaries and growing the government.
Think about it. If it makes sense to borrow to buy a house now, it also makes sense to borrow to buy airports, train stations, schools, and other critical infrastructure. That will create economic growth in the future.
Republican talk about jobs, but cutting spending now immediately adds to the unemployment problem. Are they being honest about that? No.
About blind loyalty, I’m loyal to my ideals. But I understand that, in practice, things only move very slowly with lots of efforts.
Compare my arguments to the silly and irrational things on this thread that the others (and the Tea Party) are mad at Obama for.
