ParticipantYeah LL,
Don’t you know that all the manufacturing jobs are going to Nev and Texas? Dell opened newest plant in NC instead of Texas. Some dell system shipped to CA are from NC, real close to your customer. NC is your typical pro-business state with the democratic governor and your typical democratic John “all corporations should be sued to BK” Edwards as the Senator.
CA education system is so horrible while UNLV is the most kickass school. Sure UNLV may not have the fancy tech labs, but its the incubation factory for the highest profit industry in the world: gaming and resorts. Heck, some bouncers were clearing 300-400K there because of the friendly business climate. If they need a few tech employees, they can just hire the H1Bs to program the slot to pay out one way tickets to CA.
Heard that Caltech may move to Texas because of the horrible business climate. Same goes for Stanford, they are probably moving campus to Oklahoma because those Sooners have friendly business climate.

I agree with you with respect to the state of the California economy, but I’m not sure the libs or the cons have a grasp on what’s to come. I see austerity in the future, and that means no republican tax cuts or liberal boondoggles.
