Herd behavior usurping common sense is the norm not an exception. Anybody with an understanding of this and significant influence over the media could get large segments of the population to do or agree to just about anything.

How in the hell did he think he could buy a $500K house while giving half of his money away in alimony/child support payments? This was before his new wife even had a job!
I think the Kool aid analogy we toss around is extremely appropriate. Jim Jone’s followers, either willingly or by force, drank the kool aid and died en masse. This guy did exactly what everyone else was doing at the time, and now that the cyanide is kicking in he wants me to save his financial life. Sorry friend, you’ll recover from this, I promise. I bet you’ll think twice about living above your means again.
It’s kind of funny, this story is set in my new hood. We looked at quite a few places in Silver Spring. Maybe he’ll look for a rental near me.

May 15, 2009 at 11:22 AM #399607drboomParticipant
Puke! This guy is no longer “stressed” because he has plenty of spending money now… not paying the mortgage = $thousands extra each month. He already “paid off” his credit cards, remember?
And he all but admits to taking a fraudulent mortgage deduction on the whole re-financed amount. Not very smart.
