ParticipantAll else being equal, you can take off up to 10% for a house backing up to a busy road like that. Throw in a nice big lot, well landscaped and a home in nicer condition and it isnt that tough to justify a difference like that.

ParticipantActually I bought the Raven Ridge pt house. $63,000 is a huge difference in budget for many people. With 10% down, we can’t afford anything more than $463,000. If I had a choice I would have bought the Trailerbrush house too. That back yard is really nice. Road noise is much less too.
Edit:..I also got $10k cash for closing costs so it helped. Not sure if the person who bought the other property got any cash.
