ParticipantI haven’t been to but two baseball games since they moved downtown and on both occasions I only went because the tickets and parking were comped.
Been to maybe two Chargers games in the last few years and those tickets, as well, were comped.
Haven’t (and won’t) buy any jerseys or other fan gear either.

ParticipantI begrudge no (wo)man his/her millions (or billions, or whatever), so long as fraud isn’t involved and taxpayers aren’t being asked to subsidize him/her (as in the case of the Big Ugly Banks). If Manny can swing a bat well enough to get someone to pay him $45 million+, then more power to him. Most fans would do exactly the same thing if they were in his position. It’s a business, after all. And he’s got a product that folks desperately want.
