December 18, 2009 at 3:31 PM #495422briansd1GuestMaybe were are becoming more like Singapore where per capita GDP is very high (about $55,000/year) but wages are low and public officials are handsomely paid.
Now, only if we can keep our streets clean like Singapore. If people get heavily fined for everything, then that ought to keep the population in check.

December 18, 2009 at 3:54 PM #495432desmondParticipantI think many Californian’s have caught on to speeding on highway’s. I rarely get passed by cars speeding at more than 5 miles over the limit. I drive the 101 south from Santa Barbara to the 126 freeway to the 5, in past months the CHP was pulling people over every 5-10 miles. Now the flow of traffic goes exactly the speed limit even through the small towns with poorly posted speed limits (35 mph through Fillmore).
