You all left off the big earthquake in the U.S. I heard the war between Israel and Iran and a large (undefined #) earthquake within 6 months. If we are making dire prognostications, you might as well add that to the list. The guns and lots of ammo. will come in real handy then. Allan, have you had any trouble locating ammo. lately?

Aecetia: Yup. Fortunately, I have a good amount on hand, but getting ammo has been a major problem. I don’t know if you heard about the DoD program to shred spent brass rather than recycle it through licensed dealers, but that’s most of the issue right there if you happen to want quantity amounts of 5.56, 7.62 or 9mm.
My local dealer has been telling me that demand for guns and ammo has been non-stop and even before Obama got elected (he counts it as being over a year now).
Have you tried CheaperThanDirt.com? (Seriously). They are usually pretty well supplied, just make sure you check out the country of origin prior to buying in bulk. For instance, they have good quality Canadian 5.56mm, but their Greek 5.56mm is crap (corrosive primers and low quality black powder).

There are plenty of places on the internet for partisan name-calling. We don’t need it here.[/quote]
