Arraya: Why is it that, after I read one of your posts, I always have the urge to make sure my doors are locked and my ammo stockpile is secure?
Geez, you’re a ray of frickin’ sunshine, you know that, right?

I’d be interested in some reserach of the body fat index of presidents going back to george wash. was the last really corpulent prez back in the 1800’s? i think nowadays people (rightly or wrongly) tend to associate fat with being out of control. also, in terms of dying i office, mccain was probably more likely statistically to make it to the end of his term without spending a good amount of time in a coronary care facility than rush. not sure about the stats on that though, but im sure it would be in the voters subconscious. the fat, the serious drugs, tend to show a guy who cannot control his imuplses, which is okay with me personally, i like party people, just think america would rather have a toned, controlled black guy than fat, wild white guy in 2012. this sint the 1800s and fat is our national touchstone for character.
I would not vote for a fat president.
Anyone who is fatter than the standard body mass index is irresponsible in my opinion. And that’s being generous.
The BMI for Europeans or Asians would be a more appropriate standard.
How very open-minded of you. God forbid we choose the best man or woman for the job.
Nope. Let’s find the most telegenic, “BMI appropriate” person.
Truly, bigotry does come in all “shapes” and “sizes”.

I don’t see bigotry here. I don’t expect our president to be handsome or pretty. That man or woman could be ugly for all I care. I just don’t want the president to be fat.
If we expect our president to have gone to college, why can’t we expect our president to not eat cake or drink beer in excessive amounts?
There’s only one way to get fat and that is to consume more calories than one expends.
It has to do with personal responsibility and making sacrifices for one’s own health.
Similarly, we don’t respect people who indulge their pleasures today by spending all their money. People have to be financially responsible and save some money for the future.
We teach kids to sacrifice for the future by studying hard today and being good students. They can’t play all the time. They have to study. We also need to teach kids to consume only the appropriate amounts.
A fat president would be a terrible example of gluttony.
