Housing in depopulated areas will become worthless.
The bleeding edge of tech, or large metro areas, is where people make money to buy what they want. Even people are complaining their kids can’t find well paying jobs in San Diego so they have to leave.
Sure, that’s nothing in the scheme of the universe.
Housing in European and Japanese cities has not become worthless. Maybe in tiny towns, but the same thing has happened in the US. There are plenty of desert towns full of abandoned buildings.
spd, there is no housing bubble in this lovely Italy small town.
I think we will see bifurcation of housing in the coming years. The big metros will get all the new people and appreciation. Even sizable towns of 200k might be threatened by demographics, depending of their location and proximity to large metros
