Anyone following the concern on the nuclear reactor leaks?

Yep. I am curious why they are having cooling problems if they have ‘crashed’ the reactor. Yes, there may be a little heat produced, but remember that spent radioactive fuel is stored in large pools of water. The other advantage of water based reactors is that they stop generating heat when they loose water. The water has two purposes. To make the heat useful – as a working fluid, and as a nuclear moderator – to slow down the neutrons so that they can react. If the neutrons from uranium travel too fast, it will not support a continuing chain reaction.
Wiki seems to have a surprising amount of info on this..

I tend to vote on the Republican side, and seriously disagree with him. The building codes give the next potential buyer of the property, a good idea of the standard to which a building is built – otherwise– everything would be a teardown. If you drop GOP from the statement, you are probably most accurate. I really think he is trying to get a rise out of some people. He probably doesn’t have much planned for this weekend, so he wants to stir the waters.

Wow, 5 years of posting serious commentary here and I don’t even get the benefit of doubt. My post was mocking the builders who steadfastly claimed that home prices were so high because of code, permits, etc. I was hoping someone would get the subtle satire on a housing blog!March 12, 2011 at 1:24 AM #676333equalizerParticipant

You’re a shithead and GOP troll.
I don’t think he is a ‘GOP troll’..
