    Listened to an interesting presentation regarding the State of IT speanding in California. 56% of current state IT position scheduled to retire in teh next 10 years. Spending on IT is up from 6 billion to 6.6 billion this year.

    Neww office of the CIO is currently in the process of creating master plan for state contracts and bid process. Currently small business are scheduled to recieve 25% of contrates and DVB are scheduled for 3%.

    For those of you who have your IT business I would begin to get you WIP reports in order and have complilations doen because it might be a decent time to go after Gvoernment Business. Believe Requirement for small busines are less 150 employees and under 12 million in revenues although new proposals are looking to increase this to 14 million.

    I work with a company with thousands of IT employees. They have a similar problem nationwide right now – it is not limited to the government.
