As someone who has been renting for the last 10 years, and has been a landlord, and who doesn’t give a s***t if this guy is a troll, the subject matter hit a raw nerve with me. Renting is not always a wonderful experience, and yes I have been made to feel less than adequate, and an untrustworthy individual. I am currently looking for a new rental, and the last three or four landlords I’ve dealt with just blew me away with their lies, stupidity, and distrustful attitude. My view is renting isn’t the issue. It’s landlords who seem woefully ill-equipped to provide what is an essential service. They lack social skills, business acumen, and are out of touch with the demands of those who seek a roof over their heads in today’s market. Renting could and should be a pleasant experience, but it’s still stuck in the last century.
