ParticipantPiggs,
Let’s not kid ourselves, there is only 1 rich person here…..”RICH TOSCANO” that is π
I digress, but for some of us the concept of rich/wealthy is unique. For me, I feel content with my life every time I make it down to Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon…. or I’m out in nature (fishing, hunting, camping)…Yes, I do it often. If I make enough to live a decent life style, go out on a vacation, get out as much w/ my familiy I’m greatful. I get as many utils out of the experience as a wife of a CEO shopping in Paris, New York, or Beverly Hills.
Hence, a little amount of greed/want is good, yet I would not sell/trade quality of life for $ alone.
P.S. I do have some wealthy friends….and I second that they are constantly: miserable, worrying about their $, and have less time to enjoy life.

ParticipantI am surprised to see so many of you equating being rich to not having to work. What’s wrong with working if you love what you do?
Bill Gates and the likes certainly do work, a lot.April 25, 2008 at 8:21 AM #194338Sandi Egan

Guest“have to” versus “want to”.
Being rich, today, means that you can pay out of of pocket for any conceivable medical problem without insurance, without seriously worrying about your standard of living.
