Participantanother thought; college is only a few years away for the oldest. my recollection of the financial aid game was that parents with cash in the bank get hosed, worst financial aid packages, expected to drain all savings first. better to plead poverty, take on some debt, maybe save after school begins and pay off the kids debt post-aid package. in that case, better to put all your money in a house?
it’s true, now that i’m ready to buy, it’s about time to downsize.
