Guestsdr, you make some good points but I’m going to have to call BS on some of it. 30 minute commute from NCC (anywhere Encinitas and North) to San Diego? Good luck with that during rush hour. Like I said, you might be able to get to a Sorrento Valley office in 30 min on a good day.
Being far from Lindberg an advantage for a regular traveler, be serious. If price was the same more people would fly out of Palomar. I’ll check into that but for now I’m calling BS. Taking the traing to go downtown and haveing to cab it back? What an inconvenience. Proves my point about isolation.
I agree Mt Helix (the actual mountain) is isolated in a certain sense but overall the La Mesa area is much closer to the cultural points of interest of San Diego than NCC.

Agreed DZ. LM Village is =<13 miles from dtn SD. Every amenity (except the ocean) is present there. Both of those properties have views of the ocean.
I just looked at the photos of the first one again (designed by architect around the 2/3 AC lot). That is one fabulous home with great bones. I am seeing the OB pier and a blue ocean sliver on the horizon from the view window (15-16 miles away). The design is just stupendous. The interior wood, rock and beams makes one feel like they are living in Tahoe or the rocky mtns! A very casual, yet classy feel. In spite of potential septic issues, I so wish I was in a position to be a buyer today! This is a property I could die in.
Mt Helix has many of the finest quality (and reinforced) custom homes in the county built on it, on BOTH sides. The majority are designed by local architects because the lots tend to be irregular, often sloping and may have other challenges. It is really is a submarket all its own.
Again, love the pictures. What do you think, deadzone? Would you place an offer on either of these two properties?

ParticipantOkay. I realize it’s raining, so that will need to be factored in. I am heading up to L.A. We left PB around 3:15. It is now 3:55. We are just now at Poinsettia. I would really HATE to have to do this drive every day. I don’t know how people do it. No thanks. DH says fack that! Brutal.
