And they are very picky about who they allow in. They reject people with health issues, even rich people because they do not want to end up supporting them. I have a friend who had a heart attack and wanted to move his family there and was refused. He is a multi-millionaire and they rejected him. Unlike the U.S., Australia does not take people in who will be a burden on the health care system.

Have a friend who was going to accept a job there, but AUS wouldn’t allow her to come over unless her husband had a job lined up in Australia also. No house-spouses allowed, apparently.
