The Obesity Solution: CHANGE THE FOOD SUPPLY.
What?! And have the nanny state prohibit us from eating dessert? What kinda world have we come to?
Maybe it’s a responsibility issue. Food and health responsibility come ahead of financial responsibility, in my opinion.
How come the irresponsible are not being punished and we all have to pay for them?
I never understand OCrenter’s take on this.
If someone bought a peak mortgage it was their fault but if they chose poorly with food it is the food supplies fault? Right now I have a fresh cheesecake in the fridge and also a huge bag of spinach and some eggs. If I eat the cheesecake instead of the incipient omelette, is it a food supply problem? If I eat the cheese cake and talk shit with you guys all day instead of go outside and find something moderately demanding to do, is it a food supply problem? Are my friggin years of education to blame? Crazy.December 31, 2010 at 10:42 AM #646701NotCrankyParticipant

Lol, Rustico ;=) Completely understand your point.
Glad to hear some of us Piggs have a “life.” Now, get out there and chop some wood, Rustico!
Already chopped it all? Then put your trusty wheelbarrow to use and move your wood piles. It will cause some of the termites to scatter.
Wheelbarrow got a flat tire?? Break out your patch kit and then pump it back up!
I for one am going outside to pull weeds for an hour :=]

There is something inherently wrong with the current food supply out there that is causing dramatic increase in weight.
Yeah. It’s too cheap and there’s too much of it!
http://epirev.oxfordjournals.org/content/29/1/1.full
Historical records from developed countries indicate that height and weight increased progressively, particularly during the 19th century. During the 20th century, as populations from better-off countries began to approach their genetic potential for longitudinal growth, they began to gain proportionally more weight than height, with the resulting increase in average BMI. By the year 2000, the human race reached a sort of historical landmark, when for the first time in human evolution the number of adults with excess weight surpassed the number of those who were underweight.
