How much does a home inspection typically cost?

How much does a home inspection cost? I’m guessing it’s dependent on the house. If anyone has had a home inspected in the past 3 years and would like to share info please post:

Cost of inspection, size of home, type (SFR, towhnome, condo) approx. price of home, area(PQ, LJ, UC, etc) and whatever else might be helpful. Feel free to recommend the inspector you used if they did an exceptional job.

Not sure ho many people are fans of Mike Holmes – HGTV “Holmes Inspection” or “Holmes on Homes” – but I’m looking for his clone in San Diego.

They usually start at about 375 and go up from there. They are based on the size of home and sometimes the type of home and if there is additional stuff like pools and such. Many people here have worked with great inspectors as you will see. I also have a couple of very good inspectors I recommend as well.
