In rerospect maybe, I was looking in 2007 and didn’t see that good of a deal but then again I didn’t negotiate, just dropped by from time to time because I was all about the view and wolf lacks it, plus I had nothing to sell so waiting another year and half worked out for me. Of course you can do better than that now but you’ll get less for your current place, the difference may be more now than it was then. They would have called you a knife catcher then but the math might have been better. If you still want to go bigger and can swing it, now may be a good time to buy a repo and rent your current place out.
300k can land you just about anywhere you want to be right now, however a 4 car garage is hard to find. It’s amazing how underated garges are. I have a 3 car now, I’m a single guy and I’ve already used the entire thing and would love a 4 car, but i guess if I got one I’d want more, ultimately I think I just need to win the lottery so i can buy and airplane hanger or something like that. I’ll bet there is a guy who has an airplane hanger as a garage and he thinks it’s too small. I think I just stumbled onto one of the secrets of the male mind, there are three things no guy has ever complained are too large, breasts on his partner, his own manhood and his garage. No matter how large any of them are, you always want more.
Such is life.

It’s an eye catching headline but it was not like they were even bulldozing small sections of the city or something (like they were actually planning in Detroit).
In Today’s 24 hour news world they need to find an eye catching headline about every fifteen minutes or their viewers lose attention bandwidth and move on.
I think people lose track that although SoCal goes through downturns like everywhere else; it’s always going to be a place where people will want to live.
Nothing like bad news to grab attention though.
