To bob2007, Keeping it real is better. I think the fake grass can also be a fire hazard.
Fertilizer: Organic (Natural) versus Chemical (Inorganic)

We asked 3 different manufacturers about this, specifically.Fake grass melts but does not combust. At least the brands we looked at. We live above San Clemente Canyon and are in a designated fire zone on the fire maps put out by the county…
It gets ruined (melted) in a fire – but does not add to the fire hazard.
