My Wife and I looked extensively at Eureka Springs and at the Shea development a half mile away (Chaparral Ridge). We were enamored with both developments. That is, until we drove through north-central Esco on El Norte Parkway. YIKES!
There is a very good reason the directions on the Lennar website have you come up Bear Valley Pkwy. Also, drive up at night so you can see all the fresh paint covering the graffiti just about everywhere.
The nail in the coffin was the long-term resale values. We think appreciation will be weak when the market returns to equilibrium.
Do a search on Eureka Springs on this website for other comments.

June 23, 2008 at 5:21 PM #227388jennyoParticipantDesmond, from what I can tell the Wrangler and Agrusa’s are both still in business. The Wrangler was my favorite place to eat when I was a kid because they would give you that entire squeeze bottle full of extra BBQ sauce! I moved away from Escondido after finishing college but my parents stayed in the area until about 2002 and continued to visit the Wrangler frequently until then. I think my dad loved how cheap everything was there.

El Norte Pkwy is the GOOD route. Good thing you didn’t go down Lincoln Ave!
