I’m loving it that aspirational cars are now electric.
German car makers are shaking in their boots because the prosperous demographics that buy mid-range luxury sedans are shifting to electric. They are so paranoid that they are jumping on board the electric bandwagon.
I also love it that icons such as the Mustang are going electric. Soon, there ain’t gonna be nowhere to hide from electric cars and LED lights. Haha.
The Mustang will be built in Mexico. Even better!
Ford says reservations are full for electric Mustang Mach-E

Mustang Mach-E being electric is nice. On the other hand, it’s another jellylike blob of a CUV, not a car — this counts against it.
lots of great EV designs hitting the street over the next 2 years.
It’s going to keep improving.
Imagine if our policy makers had foresight.
Even with the crash in oil prices, if we mandate gas efficiency and electric, we can keep oil permanently low.
It’s not like oil will not be extracted and used eventually. But why not bank it in the ground for future use? Instead of depleting oil reserves in the next few decades, we can lengthen the period over many more decades, maybe centuries. We can do it if we put our minds to it.
So China makes electric cars priority #1 post Covid while we bet on the continued dominance of the gas guzzling SUV. We will see on 20 years which policies were best.

Electric cars are gonna make classic ice cars worth quite a bit.

Only certain cars. I used to like cars but I have lost interest. My contractor is restoring an old El Camino. I don’t see the point but to each his own.
