No way in a free market capitalist economy! Some one would peg his appearance to the financial/housing markets with a lot of people (i.e. Florida realtors) claiming he will save everyone from their overleveraged lives. In reality I would expect him to shrug the shoulder and say “Dude, it’s only paper”. Then the market economy goes poof… or something like that.

I can just see US consumer consumption falling off a cliff and sending China into serious recession. Or worse, their markets take a tumble and the peasants who invested their life savings in the market (and thus lost it) protesting the government for not taking care of them…

Sounds like the crowd in this country after 2000 and likely now during the housing bust. Help me!!… I loaded my BC with 400lbs of shot and jumped in the water and I can't float…

August 16, 2007 at 1:22 AM #76303AnonymousGuestone_muggle, I would have thought that if gold were overbought, that it would have moved down with all of this – ppl selling to get some more liquidity, possibly cover some bad bets. But it hasn’t done much of anything recently.
On the other hand, it would do well with the dollar weakening, but the dollar is strengthening. So I have no idea whats going on with it. Seems like there is better money to be made elsewhere right now though.
