Maybe they were former homeowners that bought new, nice cars w/their HELOCs and now that the bank took their house, they still have a nice car, but they have to go back to renting.

August 25, 2010 at 8:01 AM #595906UCGalParticipantBravo FLU… agree with everything you’ve said in this post.
A lot of people drive cars they can’t afford because they either have a sense of entitlement or want to project a specific image. But if the car’s not paid for in full… it’s all just smoke and mirrors that can be repo’d away.
I’m surprised by how many of my coworkers drive 5 and 7 series bmw’s, mercedes, jaguars… They’re not making that much more than me… I have to wonder if they’re underfunding their 401ks, living on credit cards, or what… But that’s their issue. I can only manage my own budget.

These same people probably have iphones with a $100/month phone bill and yet “can’t afford” health insurance.
Hijack….Note to self. If I need someone to haul something, ping meadandale :)
LOL, that’s why I don’t have a prius…need to be able to make trips to the dump and haul stuff home from HD and Lowes π
