Wow. What a shithole day to cap off a shithole week…
Not that it was really a surprise….
Next week should be fun… Volatility that is…..
Volatility is fun. Just make sure you have stop loss in place.

Why complain? You griped when asset prices bubbled up, shouldn’t you be rootin’ for a leg down?

It’s not a complaint. It’s an observation….
I’m fine either way, up or down…
IMO I don’t think we will see much of a decline, maybe 10-15%.
Besides if it weren’t for insider selling of FB and Google stocks CA would be broke LOL.
But I would not mind seeing a 40% hit right here so I could buy the S&P Index in my 401K and feel a bit more confident about it, Right now I am almost all cash.
Then CA would be forced into a systematic overhaul — it’s broke because of an overgrown, overpaid bureaucracy, not because it needs support from insider trading. Don’t get me wrong: I support things like CA’s strict pollution regulations, but most states could be run in a more efficient manner no doubt.
Things might get worse or better, I’m out of the market other than 401K. I’m investing in solar and fun stuff, but if silver dips any lower I may have to buy some.P.S.-Just realized that in CA when earnings are over 100K you are welcomed into the “pay twice as much state taxes” club, when married that is.
Two stocks I bought recently (one before earnings)…
1. Altria (MO)..
I bought them for a dividend play (5.1%).
It’s pretty boring. Goes between $36-38/share… Which is good. I like stability..

I’ve had on again off again encounters with MO over the years. And even though I’m a proponent of legalization for most recreational drugs, something about MO just makes me feel dirty when I own it.
I’m not a social concious investor, but something about MO always makes me question if I’m putting money above everything.
