ParticipantPR-Where did I contradict what he said. I just said it in a slightly different way. With a little of my own knowledge sprinkled in. Like I said it is legally a “federal instrumentality”, and legally structured in a way that government can’t interfere. He did not discuss the legal logistics, though he did acknowledge. It is quite different from say the EPA, or DOD or any other traditional government agencies.
It is a private corporation legally and private non-governmental banks own shares that are not offered to the public.
He said: it’s an arm of government. It is cloistered in what I regard as an illegitimate way, literally protected from political accountability by the way it was set up.
And it is a fact that it will not allow congress to looks at it’s books.
So tell me where I am wrong…

ParticipantThe world is more complicated.
Actually, I don’t believe it is me that is simplifying it. You are the one that judges the Fed like a typical federal agency when it is clearly a strange hybrid intertwined with the private sector that could have international interests.
I think you may be the first person ever to say I simplify things. haha

Where did the trillions go?
[/quote]I’ll tell you where it went:
“Hey kids, watch this magic trick. I’m going to make all this money disappear. Slight of hand. Poof!! All gone, just like that. Wow! {applaud}”
“Want to see it again? Give me some more money. I can do this all day and night.”
If you don’t want to read it all, you can listen to it as well. It was a good interview and I’m tempted to read the book, were it not for all the reading I do at work and on blogs. When I finally have some spare time and can pry myself away from the computer, I’m sick of reading and just need to give my eyes a break, get some fresh air and/or relax or exercise, listen to something and/or take a mini mental vacation.
OT – Arraya, do you ever take a mental vacation? lol. j/k
