To what end does this benefit anybody?
Last I heard even though Obama wasn’t proposing to tax your health care benefits taxing them wasn’t off the table and he wasn’t going to oppose it either. The benefit is what candidate Obama refer to as “the largest tax middle-class tax increase in history.” Of course it’s going to pass the gov is in desperate need of a new source of revenue.

March 5, 2010 at 12:39 PM #521316blahblahblahParticipantbut the ones who are not covered now are the ones who do not have any money,
I hope for your sake that no one in your family ever gets sick. I have family members who are cancer survivors and who have conditions like type I diabetes. They are completely, totally uninsurable. No insurance company will sell them a policy for any amount of money given their health history. Their only option is to work for an employer that has a group healthcare plan. Hopefully they will be able to work until they qualify for medicare. Not everyone is so lucky.

but the ones who are not covered now are the ones who do not have any money,
That’s fine if you’re saying that people who can’t afford health care should not have any health care benefits.
Let the Republicans stand up and say it out loud.

Aren’t most people with no coverage already on medical?
No. That’s why they are not covered. Medi-cal is considered insurance.March 5, 2010 at 12:43 PM #521450briansd1Guest
