Nope, not even in CV. $1.50 would be pushing it and for that be prepared to go tentantless for a period of time. Sure, suckers are always a possibility, but that would be wishing rent. There’s a wishing rent a block away from me, $1.40/square and it’s been sitting there for going on four months now.
2 years ago, when I was looking for a place to rent in CV, I was looking in both old CV and Airoso. Plan 3&4 in Airoso were renting for around $2500-2600/month and they went pretty quickly. They are 1563 sq-ft, so that comes out to about $160-166/sq-ft. For old CV, I remember looking into a 2/2 twin home, about 1100-1200 sq-ft. It was asking for $2100/month ($1.75-$1.9/sq-ft) and there were several families viewing it on the first day. I end up not living there but I did go view it in the middle of the work day, since I thought it was a good deal compare to the other properties listed for rent at the time. It seems like others agreed, that’s why there were so many people coming to view it in the middle of a work day. I just ran a quick craigslist check on Airoso and it seems like this plan 4 was asking for $2695/month on August 31st. No relist after 8 days, so I assume they found a renter. There’s also this, also seems like plan 4 Airoso, asking $2850/month 6 days ago. We’ll see if they relist it or not. Then there’s also this, 2100 sq-ft SFR in CV, asking for $2995/month($1.42/sq-ft for a decent size SFR) with move in date of today. I didn’t see any repost since September 3rd, so it might already have a renter at that price.September 7, 2009 at 10:31 PM #454260anParticipant
Nope, not even in CV. $1.50 would be pushing it and for that be prepared to go tentantless for a period of time. Not a dump but certainly not modernized.

Although I will grant that your last example supported my position beautifully. Thanks!
