Briansd..It’s not the money, it’s the principle of the thing. Nothing annoys me than calling store X and getting a price X and then going to store and finding price is Y where Y> X…And that doesn’t matter how much the actual amount is. When you get a price, you expect that that price is what you pay. Whether that price is “overpriced” is irrelevant.
Flu, you make a good point here.
What about when you on a vacation to some exotic place and you buy something and are charged 3 times more because you’re a rich American?
It doesn’t bother me. But I know people who get upset to the point of “ruining” their vacation.
The merchant tells you what the price is. You have the choice of buying or not buying.

That’s the whole point, the merchant told you the price is A when you walked in, but charge you B when you’re trying to pay. Using your RE example, it’s like buying a cheap (well under priced house). You write up an offer, they accepted the offer. However, when you read the final docs, they’re charging you extra for carpet, roof, windows, etc.July 23, 2009 at 5:02 PM #436544anParticipant
Probably they don’t care the customers to come back next time. Surely I won’t go there anymore and I won’t recommend people to go either.
