Datagent made some good points. There are lots of very good agents out there that could do a great job for you. The ones who arent good should be easy to identify as soon as you meet them. If you get a bad feeling go elsewhere. I dont believe that any single agent can do what others cant do or that any one of us is above the group of very good agents working in SD County.
Bottom line is find yourself a good experienced agent that doesnt send any bad vibes to you when you meet them. Do be careful of the charmers out there that seem too good to be true or claim to be better than the rest as there are some real sharks out there. Any of the agents on this board or Jim who just replied above would do a good job for you just as any of the good experienced agents out there would.

Not sure if this is your first purchase, but with regards to experience I really think that as a first time buyer you may actually benefit from a less experienced agent that has more time to show you around. Not brand new, but someone that has done a few deals in your area.
The agency has absolutely nothing to do with it in my opinion. Your working with the agent and they are the one you will want to do everything in your best interest. Small agency or large agency you want someone you can trust.
tips? I would say ask your friends who have purchased in the area or go to open houses in the area.
With regards to credit at sale it would seem ethical for the credit to come from both sides of the transaction equally as opposed the the buyers agent that probably spent more time with you and would be advising you throughout the transaction.

[/quote]lol I “excepted” to get one of those good looking blondes when I bought but it just didnt work out that way. If someones going get paid to open the door they better be hot doing it!
