I have one! Wahoo!
I am not going to give it up on the internet, because that is just plain stupid (just kidding), but I have one. I am really excited about it.
To be honest I wish it were an idea as simple as a tech start up, something as simple as an iphone app, but it is not. I long for an idea with such low investment cost.
It is time to do my research, put together my powerpoint slides and work on my elevator pitch.
Either way, lets all make some money! wahoo!
(too many wahoos? who knows really? Is there ever enough wahoos? am I rambling?)
Whatever it is, good luck, jstoez! π

Maybe this is really corny, but why can’t people just pick up a phone and call someone instead of twitter or Facebook?
LOL, CAR… I think it’s more a generational thing. Picking up the phone and talking 1 on 1 is too time consuming and too involved. If you don’t have time for a full conversation with one person – you text. If you need to talk to more than one person – say all your friends, you post on facebook or tweet.
Also, folks who use this media assume people CARE what they have to say. And so they post every random thought. Or worse – retweet other people’s random thoughts.
I don’t care, so I don’t do facebook or twitter. It doesn’t add value to my life. I’d rather have conversations. On the phone, in person, or even on a blog where I can interact with folks with great insight and writing style like TG or Allan from Fallbrook.
The advantage of avoiding the newer social media- I won’t have to explain to any future employers about my drunk spring break pictures. If it become necessary to have a facebook presence I’ll be able to control my impulse to put every random thought out there.
You’re probably right about the “generational” thing. How did time pass so quickly? π
Okay, I can see not wanting to talk on the phone, but e-mail works just fine, no?
What’s funny is that people apparently think texting is “more efficient,” but you find them doing it ALL DAY LONG. We were with friends at Lawrence Welk last year, and the wife would not get off the darn thing. My DH and I were ready to just walk out. We have a policy that when we are spending time with people, we ignore all electronic devices (phones, computers, etc.) unless there is an emergency. We’re not even big fans of cell phones for chatting, mostly for emergencies or to coordinate with people when we’re meeting somewhere. Just old-fashioned, I guess.
It’s creepy to see how much information people are willing to put out on the internet. IMHO, that’s going to come back to haunt them in the future.

The privacy issue is a big one, IMHO, but young kids these days don’t seem to care. Am I the only one who sees the potential for problems with one sends nekkid pics over the phone or internet? People are crazy.
