i do like the idea of floating cargo ships full of cars.
maybe they should discount them until they move out.
idiots.
I’d buy a GM car for 5K[/quote]
Are there any killer deals on cars these days? I just want to ask you all please list anytype of killer deals and I heard if you have 10 year old car and if you buy a brand new then there could be around 3K grant would get in the new car purchase. I believe it could be a rumour but haven’t seen any news on this.

Well. Here’s what I know right now
1) If you buy a new car under $49k this year, supposedly there is a tax benefit.
2) Unfortunately, if you live in CA, and haven’t already purchased a new car, you will be paying 1% more now with the updated sales tax increase (effective April 1st)
As far as incentives for cars are concerned….If you don’t mind buying a GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, there are plenty of good deals right now. Also, you can find decent deals(not outrageous) on entry Bimmers and Mercedes and to some extent Audi’s. Mid-to-high end german cars, I haven’t seen good deals yet for new . (and you probably don’t want to buy used for obvious reasons).
As far as are there any interesting GM cars discounted right now insanely…Here’s one that I think is a good deal….
Pontiac G8 GXP: $37,860..
For under $40k, you get a 415hp 8 banger RWD beast that comes stock and that handles pretty decently… Imho, tt’s a pretty good car….because it’s not a GM North America product 🙂 It’s basically a Holden Commodore VE built and imported from Australia. In other words, it’s one of GM’s cars available here in N.A. that was built right.
Luckily GM North America didn’t molest it much… except the ugly ass Pontiac front end and ackward looking stock wheels….(sigh, GM North America..Another fine example of taking a cool looking car, and butchering it). http://www.edmunds.com/pontiac/g8/2009/review.html
However, good news…You can fix that horrific GM decision by spending an additional $5k to convert it back a good looking Holden frontend:
Imho, this is the direction where GM *should* have taken all there passenger cars (at least from a design perspective. 415hp is slighly overkill for most people)….Sigh…GM North America, when are you ever going to learn your overseas designs are so much better then most of your GM N.A. FWD crap you churn out.
The 415hp is stock…Things get even more interesting once the mods come aftermarket.Imho, it’s the perfect beater/sleeper car that will chew just about everything else stock in it’s price range, and yet you can still haul a family of 4-5. I have my finger on this car, just in case GM starts discounting this to around the low thirties.
Once upon a time, Vette z06 was pretty well discounted. But since then prices have gone up again (they cut production i think). Also, the Caddy CTS Spec V isn’t due out yet (and I wonder with a GM BK whether it will ever be released).
