ParticipantI failed to use a caveat – there’s still a lot of tumult and fear ahead – the panic would have started a couple weeks back rather than later. I’ll keep the metaphors simple. We’re not out of the woods by a long shot. I agree these over-leveraged and “confidence” firm business models deserve everything that’s coming to them. Nothing goes up forever. The law of gravity applies to everything on this planet as far as I know. Remember too, these “organizations” would likely never have had the opportunity to cause this mess without the help of the Fed and monsieur Greenspan. Talk about a metaphor master. He baffled everyone by mumbling incoherently in his inimitable “Alspeak” and after retiring suddenly sounds like a master speech language pathologist.

ParticipantWhat did you do about it? (BESIDES bitch on an internet forum?)
What only one? I’ve written Susan Davis once this week. Feinstein and Boxer twice. I even called the senate banking committee comment line BEFORE the useless congressional hearings; when there was still a chance to do something about it. Save your misplaced sense of superiority for when actually have a chance to use it.
Wow, you actually wrote Brian Bilbray, I’m impressed.
